Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about renting or listing a hangar on Quick Hangar.

Quick Hangar is an aviation marketplace that connects aircraft owners with hangar space. If you have an aircraft and need somewhere to park it — for an hour, a night, or longer — you can find and book hangar space near you in minutes. If you own a hangar with extra room, you can list it and earn money from space that would otherwise sit empty.

Quick Hangar is currently available only in the United States. To create an account you'll need a US phone number and a verified email address. Renters book hangar space; hangar owners (individuals, primary tenants, and FBOs) list and manage their available space. The platform is open to general aviation pilots, aircraft owners, flight schools, charter operators, and fixed-base operators.

Hangar operators set their own daily rate, and we calculate an hourly rate automatically (daily rate ÷ 24) so short stays are priced fairly. At checkout you'll see the daily rate and a clearly highlighted total — no hidden fees buried in fine print. A 15% platform fee is split evenly between the renter (7.5%) and the operator (7.5%) on individual and primary-tenant hangars. For FBO-operated hangars, the operator's fee is waived, so renters pay 7.5% plus standard Stripe processing fees.

Every listing shows the hangar's dimensions and door width, and our system automatically checks compatibility against your aircraft's wingspan, length, and height — including a built-in safety buffer — before letting you book. Aircraft dimensions are pulled from a verified registry so you don't have to know your specs by heart. For larger box hangars that hold multiple aircraft, our visualizer shows exactly how everything fits together before you confirm.

It depends on the hangar. Many of our hangars use Master Lock smart locks, which means you can unlock the door right from the Quick Hangar app using Bluetooth on your phone — your access is granted automatically the moment your reservation starts and revoked when you check out. For hangars without smart locks, you can message the operator directly through the in-app chat to coordinate access — no personal phone numbers or email addresses are shared between users.

You can book on the spot for immediate stays, or reserve a hangar up to months in advance. Advance bookings require a 10% non-refundable deposit at the time of reservation; the remaining 90% is automatically charged 2 days before your arrival. Advance reservations must be made a minimum of 3 days ahead. You'll get email and text confirmations at every stage — including reminders before any auto-charge.

Payouts run through Stripe Express Connect, which is the same payment infrastructure used by Lyft, DoorDash, and Instacart. You'll go through a short onboarding to verify your identity and link your bank account — it takes about 5 minutes. After that, payouts for completed bookings are deposited automatically to your bank account. You can add and upload your hangar before linking a bank account, but you'll need to complete bank setup before you can flip the listing to "available."

Yes. We never see or store your credit card number — all payment processing is handled directly by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified (the highest standard in the industry). Sensitive documents like driver's licenses and pilot certificates are encrypted with AES-256 before they're stored, and your financial details on your account page are hidden behind a "View Details" toggle so they're never visible at a glance. We also use HTTPS everywhere, hardened session security, and cross-site request forgery (CSRF) protection on every form.

Every booking includes a "Report a Problem" option, and both parties get each other's contact info at confirmation so issues can be resolved directly when possible. We support real-time chat between renters and operators inside the app with notifications, so you're never out of touch. Our support team monitors disputes and can intervene when needed. Reservations have clear status tracking — pending, confirmed, cancelled, or completed — so there's never ambiguity about where things stand.
